Recent interest in feminist theory have brought about a spate of books and articles that 'explain' the roots of feminism and attempt to give an overall view of the 'waves' of activity throughout the history of the movement. Sheila Tobias' book, Faces of Feminism: An Activist's Reflections on the Women's Movement, has not only met these goals but has done so in an interesting and personal style that gives depth and meaning to her experiences and the history of the women's movement.
