5 pages in length. Richard II was not the most popular of British monarchs, nor did he take the throne at a very opportune time. The combination of Black Death, an epidemic that took the lives of nearly one-half of the entire population, and Richard's inability to lead with any political prowess cost him the chance to regain a solid British stance under effective leadership. So bound by authoritarian rule was Richard that his unyielding reign soon set off a revolution that served to be the beginning of the end for this particular monarch's authority. Sir Francis Drake, Innovative Thinker

A 9 page paper discussing the explorer and privateer's ability to look at things from perspectives that others had not yet seen. The business buzzword of the 1990s and into the new century has been that of innovation, but Sir Francis gives us insight into the usefulness of innovation during the late 16th century. Preceding the pirates, Sir Francis was one of the world's first privateers, and certainly one of the first to use modern methods of warfare. Whenever possible, he allowed his enemy to complete the bulk of the difficult work for him. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
