Social Status of Women in "Much Ado About Nothing"

An 11 page paper discussing women's roles as portrayed in"real life" along with those of "Much Ado About Nothing" and other plays, particularly "The Taming of the Shrew." The fact that Benedick misinterprets statements is shown merely as being honest mistakes. When the same error is committed by Beatrice and even Kate, the the audience and the other characters alike cluck over the obvious error that in reality was not error at all, but was the result of a finely crafted defense mechanism designed to keep all others at bay.
