Behavioral & Experiential Approaches to Family Therapy

A 15 page paper using literature analysis to prove the hypothesis that though there is a much greater volume of current research and reporting based in behavioral therapy rather than experiential, the lack of similar work based in the experiential model is not indicative of that method's validity or effectiveness. Rather, there is a common blurring of boundaries between the two methods in which therapy will begin with emphasis in one method but then introduce aspects of the other. The behavioral model is more easily quantitatively analyzed for research reporting, lending itself more readily to analysis than does the experiential model, which has a more emotional base and is more difficult to verify through standard research means. Bereavement Groups for Survivors of Homicide

A 15 page exploration of the increasing violence and other societal factors which have led to the increased loss of loved ones and acquaintances to homicide. Details the impacts of such violence on child survivors in particular. Suggests that bereavement groups provide a much needed outlet for the survivors of these horrendous crimes and suggests that the effective design of such groups is imperative to the emotional healing of these victims.
