Effects Of Music On The Brain And Learning

Numerous studies have found that students at all levels show marked improving in scores on different kinds of tests after listening to certain kinds of music. This movement of linking music to learning began in the 1970s when accelerated learning was introduced in the United States. Studies showed that playing baroque music shortened learning time, often with complex material. This essay discusses recent research regarding the structure of the brain and how this is related to music. It also discusses music and early development and the effect of music on learning.
