[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. The application of corporal punishment – infliction of physical punishment upon the body – in contemporary American schools has been virtually stamped out of existence over the past several years due to notion of human rights and what is considered to be acceptable discipline by today's standards. Present-day disciplinary methods strive to impart a sense of mental reinforcement – both positive and negative – in order for the student to learn right from wrong, leaving the physical hands-on approach of corporal punishment as nothing more than a distant memory of times when bodily harm was the only employable method.
