Political Theories of Balance and the Korean War

This 11 page report discusses the Korean War and three specific political theories of balance -- power, realism, and geopolitical. The war itself is describes as are each of the political theories of balance. For more than four decades, historians and political scientists have been involved in a number of disputes regarding the Korean war, unable even to agree who started it. The war was truly unique since it was the only “hot” war of the cold war period directly involving all the superpowers. As a result, it serves as a model through which each of the theories can be considered and also seen in terms of their combined impact. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
