In particular, this paper focuses first on the Salem Witch Trials, and then the Wiccan traditions, and how anti-Wiccan sentiments began first in Europe during the Crusades. This paper also considers modern versions of the witch trials, arguing that modern perspectives on the Wiccan traditions have created definable prejudices against modern day paganism. This highly inaccurate perception has plagued Pagan worshippers throughout the centuries, with that misunderstanding permeating well into the twentieth century, in spite of the fact that the true meaning behind Paganism is completely the opposite of what has always been accepted.
